These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the sale of vehicles and provision of associated services by Cathedral Cars Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 12345678), with its registered office at 2 Cathedral Road, Derby, DE1 3PA.
These Terms apply to all sales made via our website, in person at our dealership, or over the telephone. By proceeding with a purchase or reservation you agree to these Terms in full.
These Terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. If you are a business buyer, certain protections under consumer legislation may not apply to you.
In these Terms, the following definitions apply:
We take all reasonable steps to ensure that vehicle descriptions, photographs, mileage, and specifications are accurate at the time of listing. However, all vehicles are used and may have minor wear and tear commensurate with their age and mileage.
All vehicles are listed as described at the time of the listing. We reserve the right to amend listings to correct genuine errors. Any material amendments will be communicated to you prior to purchase.
Important: We strongly recommend that you inspect the vehicle in person before purchase. Photographs and descriptions are provided for guidance only. If you cannot inspect in person, please contact us and we will provide a detailed condition report.
Mileage readings are taken from the odometer at the time of listing and are believed to be accurate, subject to HPI verification. We are not responsible for minor variations in mileage between the time of listing and vehicle handover.
All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (£) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Prices are correct at the time of display but may be subject to change without notice. The price confirmed at the time of your deposit or purchase agreement is the price you will pay.
We accept the following payment methods:
We do not accept credit card payments for full vehicle purchases. Part payments by credit card may be accepted at our discretion for amounts up to £500.
Full payment must be received and cleared before a vehicle is released. We reserve the right to withdraw from any sale if payment is not received within the agreed timescale.
A deposit of £199–£499 (as agreed at time of reservation) is required to reserve a vehicle. This removes the vehicle from sale for an agreed period of up to 7 days.
Deposits are non-refundable if you change your mind or fail to complete the purchase without a valid legal reason. However, your deposit will be refunded in full if:
Cathedral Cars Ltd is an Appointed Representative of an FCA-authorised credit broker. We work with a panel of lenders to offer finance options on our vehicles. Finance is subject to status, credit checks, and lender approval.
A finance illustration provided prior to an application is not a guarantee of the rate or terms you will be offered. The final offer will be made by the lender following a full credit assessment.
Representative Example: Borrowing £10,000 over 48 months at 9.9% APR representative. Monthly payment £251.56. Total amount payable £12,074.88. Rates may vary. Your rate will depend on your individual circumstances.
You have the right to settle any finance agreement early. Early settlement figures are available from your lender at any time. We are not responsible for the terms, administration, or servicing of finance agreements once they are established with the lender.
Part exchange valuations are provided in good faith based on the information you supply and current market data. Valuations are valid for 7 days from the date of issue, subject to physical inspection.
The final part exchange price is confirmed after physical inspection of your vehicle. If the vehicle's condition, mileage, or history differs materially from that described, we reserve the right to revise or withdraw the offer.
Your part exchange vehicle must be free of outstanding finance at the time of handover, or you must make arrangements to settle any outstanding finance from the proceeds. You warrant that you are the legal owner of any vehicle offered in part exchange and that it is free from encumbrances.
All vehicles sold by Cathedral Cars Ltd come with a minimum 3-month mechanical warranty as standard, covering the major mechanical and electrical components as described in our Warranty Terms document, available on request.
Extended warranty options are available for purchase at the time of sale. The warranty is provided by Cathedral Cars Ltd or an approved third-party warranty provider, as applicable.

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by this warranty.
If you purchased your vehicle entirely online or by distance means (phone/email) without attending our premises, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of taking delivery under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify us in writing within 14 days of delivery. The vehicle must be returned to us in the same condition as delivered, with no additional mileage beyond what is reasonably necessary for inspection. You are responsible for return delivery costs unless we agree otherwise.
Note: This right to cancel does not apply to vehicles purchased following a physical visit to our premises for the purpose of inspection, or to vehicles that have been specifically ordered or registered to your name at your request.
If you purchased in person at our dealership, you do not have an automatic right to return the vehicle unless it is faulty. Your rights in the event of a fault are governed by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
We offer UK-wide home delivery as a paid service. Delivery costs and estimated timescales will be confirmed at the time of purchase. Delivery is subject to vehicle preparation and your availability to receive the vehicle.
Risk in the vehicle passes to you upon delivery or collection. You should arrange appropriate insurance before taking delivery or collection of the vehicle.
If you fail to collect the vehicle within 14 days of being notified it is ready, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable storage fee of up to £25 per day.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Subject to the above, our total liability to you in connection with any vehicle purchase shall not exceed the purchase price of the vehicle in question.
We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic losses, including but not limited to loss of earnings, business losses, or costs incurred as a result of vehicle unavailability.
We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
By submitting an enquiry, deposit, or purchase, you consent to us processing your data for the purposes of completing your transaction, communicating with you about your purchase, and fulfilling our legal obligations. We will not sell your data to third parties.

We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 business days and provide a full response within 14 business days. If we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may refer the matter to the Motor Ombudsman or, for finance-related complaints, to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that if you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will take effect from the date of posting. Your continued use of our services following any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
